ACES Northern is a day service for people with an intellectual disability in Greensborough. For the past 8 months a team of keen food gardeners (known as The Veggie Empire) have been learning to raise vegetables from seed,improve soils and harvest and sell their produce.

The Veggie Empire crew are preparing to become a supplier of vegetables to a new Community Supported Agriculture Scheme (CSA) beginning in the northern suburbs which aims re localize the food supply chain.

This {mega} Permablitz will transform an area of 900m2 of land into a serious food production system and will help launch the ‘The Veggie Empire’ as a social enterprise providing real employment for it’s members and fabulous chemical/ GMO free food to local eaters.

Join us as we plant out 50 new beds with vegetable seedlings grown on site by the team. In addition we will be relocating our bath tub worm farms and setting up a four new ones as well as completing a huge mulch pit reticulation system to supply water to the growing beds and more!

It goes without saying that there will be an amazing vegetarian feast to be had by all and some fabulous workshops offered by some Permablitz gurus!

Greensborough is 30 minutes by train from the CBD on the Hurstbridge line and ACEs can be reached easily from the station on foot or by treadly. We are two minutes from the end of the Western Ring Road.
