Understanding Plants: a short course to grow your growing success
Date(s) - April 11, 2018
Time - 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
This is a third-party event not organised by Permablitz. We've added it because we reckon it looks pretty good!
Location - VEG Warehouse
Comprising six inter-woven units over six weeks (Apr 11th – May 16th), coupled with hands-on practical sessions as optional extras, we’ll condense 20ish years of growing experience into 20ish hrs of learning. Each week is available as a stand alone unit, however for the best learning experience we recommend – like really really recommend! – immersing yourself in the whole course.
Covering the fundamentals of water & light, food and life stewardship (think planning, pruning, planting, feeding etc…) we’re very confident this course can turn your brown thumb to green and have your leafy friends happier than they’ve ever been.
6 consecutive Wednesday evenings, 6:30pm-9pm
Course beings April 11th, includes a day class on ANZAC Day, and runs every Weds evening until May 16th.
*the optional practicals will be updated closer to the course – stay tuned!

Facilitator Bio
If you head down to our Brunswick warehouse Jeremy is likely the immesely personable man you’ll be lucky enough to meet. With over 20 years horticultural experience, including seven years at Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens, we were delighted to have Jeremy join the team in early 2016, because he brings competence, enthusiasm and all round good vibes in equal measure. (Although he probably misses being able to grow vanilla beans and cacao pods like he could in the Botanic’s giant glasshouse.) Jeremy is an adept of West African drumming and continues to be a part-time teacher thereof, and has travelled to Africa learn his art. When he completed VEG’s Permaculture Design Certificate in 2016 he fired up the campfire with irresistible rhythms. Jeremy keeps the VEG Warehouse in order, teaches wicking bed workshops, and manages our wicking kits and veggie bed installations, all of which you can find out more about at our website: wickingbeds.com.au.
