Healthy Soil = Healthy Planet = Healthy Humans
Intro to Soils Workshop:
Half of all living things on this planet live beneath our feet – perpetuating and maintaining conditions suitable for life.
Join Jess, a permaculturist, as she discusses the importance of healthy soil. This workshop will introduce participants to ways to improve and maintain soils in their garden, supporting bio-diversity and increasing productivity.
Covered in this workshop:
• The importance of healthy soils.
• A brief overview of soil ecology.
• How to identify soil types.
• Amending and improving challenging soils.
• pH and how to modify it.
• Green manures.
This workshop will include a mixture of theory and hands on activities as we determine soil pH and textures. Participants are welcome to bring a small sample of their own soil for testing.
