The seeds of the almighty ‘Oh my gourd’ belong to local Brunswick resident and friend of the nursery, Paul Dimauro who comes from an Scilian family of potato farmers in the Thorpdale area. Each year Paul looks for the perfect place to plant his amazing gourd seeds in the Nursery. Customers and staff get to share in the delight of watching these amazing fruits grow bigger and bigger and BIGGER over the summer season.
Paul has been growing his amazing gourds in the CERES Nursery for many years and we appreciate his hard work and effort. The almighty gourd we grew was 98.3cm long last year, can you beat it?
We would like to share the seeds from this gourd with people and community groups, so that they can grow their very own almighty long bottle gourd.
A limited number of seeds are available, for collection now from the CERES Nursery. Dont worry if you miss out we have more for purchse, along with Giant Pumpkin seeds and other unique gourds seeds too.
$5.00 entry fee is required on the day to enter.
