Please join us for the final stage in the Farnham Street Community Garden’s evolution. Following a fantastic blitz on 27 May we’d love to complete the construction of the new garden beds on Saturday 16^th June.

Volunteers have been cultivating this vibrant and welcoming edible garden for several decades, and now the garden is being upgraded to become more drought resilient and appealing to the next generation of community gardeners.

The design is a collaboration between The Desert Echo and the FSNLC with the aim to make the garden more inclusive to locals, low maintenance and beautiful. Mod boxes have been chosen as a quick and easy method of wicking bed construction.

So… what are we going to do?

• Construct 2 L shaped wicking beds
• Fill
• Plant

• Prepare site for garden bed construction
• Construct 4 L shaped wicking beds
• Fill

Workshops will include:

• Modbox construction technique
• Creating wicking beds

Things to bring along:

• Wheelbarrow if you have one
• Shovel
• Spade
• Gloves
• Water bottle

This is a child-friendly blitz, but normal parental rules apply – keep your kids engaged and safe.
