Help Newport Organic Collective turn this verge into a Community Edible Garden
Date(s) - April 22, 2018
Time - 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
This is a third-party event not organised by Permablitz. We've added it because we reckon it looks pretty good!
Location - The Verge!
Come and join the Newport Organic Collective (NOC), Clare Colman and friends convert an ordinary nature strip into an edible community garden and see how this can be done in your own street or neighbourhood.
For the first working bee we will need:
as many hands as possible to help dig up the grass
Green bins (bring your own or green bin if you live close by or empty sacks)
Compost to dig in.
On the day:
Be dressed for getting dirty
Bring your gloves
Wear closed toe shoes for protection & sunscreen
Tea, coffee and water will be provided.
If you’re unable to do the ‘hard yakka’ but still want to participate and support our community event, you can:
bring a plate to share; or
simply drop by to see what we’re doing and say ‘hello’.
This event is open to anyone interested, so feel free to encourage friends, neighbours and colleagues to attend and also children are very welcome. Please spread the word, tag your friends in the comments, share this post to friends and family and come boost up this community event.
Notes:
Yes, you ARE ALLOWED to plant out the nature strip in front of your house!!
