Celebrating Timor Leste’s Food Future

Kingston’s Friends of Manatuto group is teaming up with two local permaculture related groups to celebrate their common passion of providing fresh, locally grown, healthy food to communities in Kingston, Frankston and the Friends’ partner community in Timor Leste. The day will feature world renowned Timorese permaculturalist and singer/songwriter Ego Lemos, who is in Australia playing music and promoting Timor’s Permaculture in School’s project.
12PM: Music, local eco stalls and vegetarian BBQ fundraiser
1PM: Ego Lemos’ tells his story and shares his music and wisdom
2PM: Q&A with Ego about tropical permaculture in East Timorese schools, Family activites & Tour the Downs Estate Community Project
3PM: Open-Mic
Share in all things Permaculture, take a tour of the farm, plant some seedlings, throw a Frisbee, try Tai Chi, learn about wicking beds, listen to talks from the famous Ego Lemos, as well as locals, sharing and learning together in the beautiful open spaces. Then sit back, relax and enjoy the surroundings whilst listening to music from Ego and local musicians.
Come and check out the stalls, food trucks and support projects bringing food security to Timor Leste .
There is plenty of things for the little ones… Nature stories, music making plants, frisbee, face painting, open space and who knows what other little surprises are in store :o).
