Backyard Beekeeping with Melbourne Rooftop Honey
Date(s) - April 14, 2019
Time - 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
This is a third-party event not organised by Permablitz. We've added it because we reckon it looks pretty good!
Transition 3081 is teaming up with Melbourne City Rooftop Honey on this introduction to Backyard Beekeeping. Come learn about what it takes to have a beehive in your backyard, with the team that has helped revive urban beekeeping in Melbourne.
The workshop will be a combination of theory on backyard beekeeping, and also involve a hands on inspection of a live hive. All participants should wear rubber boots or thick closed toed shoes, thick long pants, socks, and a long sleeve shirt, other beekeeping gear will be provided. This is ideal for anyone who is thinking of acquiring a hive, wanting to learn more about bees and inspect a live hive, or beginner beekeepers who want to increase their knowledge, and meet other beekeepers in 3081.
This workshop is possible with the support of the Banyule City Council Sustainability Environmental Grant.
