Permablitz #200 – Upwey – Booked out!
Date(s) - August 27, 2017
Time - 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Location - Permablitz 200
Helen and Morris are a retired couple who enjoy getting out in the garden. They’re keen to be more self-sufficient and need some help to get started, so we’re going to help them!
There is quite a bit of land, much of which has become overgrown, so we will be clearing a lot of this out to create a lovely clearing that Helen and Morris can enjoy. We will use all surplus cuttings and weeds in on-site compost and hugelkultur – nothing will go to waste!
Tasks for the day include:
- creating a hugelkultur bed
- chopping back some trees, and weeding
- sheet mulching
- setting up raised garden beds
- building compost bays
- setting up irrigation
- creating leaf-baskets in several locations around the property
- planting potatos in raised baskets
There will also be a number of workshops:
- hugelkultur beds
- creating leaf-baskets
Public transport is available to Upwey station – lifts can be organised to and from the station for the willing!
It should be really fun day (and Helen is an EXCELLENT baker),
so make sure you get in fast 😉
This is now booked out! Stay tuned though, we’ve got more blitz announcements on their way!
*Please note that this event is NOT a kid-friendly event due to the elevation of the land. Sorry!
