Meet The Growers Day
Date(s) - December 16, 2017
Time - 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Location - Forestedge Stone Nursery
Head on over to Forestedge Stone Nursery for a day where you can meet the people that grow their plants!!
Where do your plants from?
Did you know that big nurseries sow their plants by machine??
I call these “fast plants”…
a bit like “fast food”…
As a permaculture teacher and now nursery manager I want to promote “slow plants”!!!!
Our plants are either propagated here or they come from local permaculture growers who LOVE what they do.
So we know:
Our seed is heirloom open pollinated
Where our cuttings come from
Where our rootstocks and apple and pear scion comes from
Where our soil comes from
How the plants have been grown
How far they have travelled to get here
That there are no herbicides or pesticides (even organic ones) used anywhere near the plants
That they are grown with LOVE every step of the way
The main growers are
Miranda Mueller of Go to Ground Permaculture
Janet Ridley of Janet Ridley Gardens
