Welcome

Welcome to permablitz.net - this site has been set up to help people get together and have fun learning about, designing and implementing suburban permaculture systems.  Our focus is edible gardens, and our ultimate aim is to make the suburbs edible enough such that should food become unaffordable, we don’t even notice.  See below for the next permablitz and feel free to submit your own onto the calendar.  Check out photos of blitzes 1-6 here, and photos of more recent blitzes in our gallery.

It's Spring time and time to get into the garden.  Come along to one of our fun filled Permablitz Intro to Permaculture weekend courses.  There are a still few places left in our 18-19 October course at the Port Philip Eco-centre in St Kilda.

Topics covered include an introduction to Permaculture Ethics and Design Principles, and we'll touch on urban animals, water catchment and use, companion planting, caring for soil and heaps more. Hands-on activities include marking out contours and making a good compost pile. You'll receive a handout covering all the topics on the course and a certificate of completion.

We aim to make this affordable to every one.  The cost for the two days is $150 ($105 unwaged) including lunches.

Please bring a bite to share for morning and afternoon teas, we'll be providing vegetarian lunches.

The courses are designed to help give you a new insights and ways of seeing, as well as practical strategies for a healthier low energy lifestyle, with an emphasis on home scale organic gardening.

Feedback from the last course:

"I'm really inspired. A great weekend."

"Lovely people, great communicators, infectious passion for gardening and another way of living."

"Above and beyond expectations! Energetic, informative and empowering. And entertaining."

We'll probably run a course over two Saturdays in November too, contact us to express your interest.

We hope to see you there!
