The community of Kooweerup (80km from Melb) would love your help to get their permaculturally designed community garden started. For this 2-day Permablitz you're invited to camp the night (for free) next door to KooWeeRup Health Services (KRHS), where the half-acre community garden will be built.
In Brief: Who: Anyone who would like to get their hands dirty to help start this community garden off is welcome! All ages! No skill requirements! When: Sat, April 12th until Sun April 13th. The blitz starts at 10:30 on the Saturday. Where? Kooweerup is about an hour and 15 minutes (80km) East of Melbourne. The blitz will be at Kooweerup Health Services, which is on ROssiter Rd in Kooweerup. Rossiter Rd is the main road into Kooweerup from the Sth Gippsland Highway and signs on the day will make it unmissable! What? Permablitz. We'll be building heaps of no-dig gardens, planting out the Winter veges, setting up compost bays, preparing an indig area, running permaculture workshops, and more... Camping? You are welcome to camp in the paddock next door to KRHS. There will be access to toilets and a kitchenette. Food? Lunch will be provided by KooWeeRup High School. BYO dinner and breakfast. RSVPs are encouraged, (but not essential) Travel tips: Use the hitch-a-ride feature at Eco-Shout.org to offer or find a ride. Or there's a coach leaving Dandenong Station at 10:40am which gets into Koo Wee Rup at 11:25 on Saturday. |
