You are invited to what will be an amazing permablitz in beautiful Eltham. Rachel and Brent recently bought a house with a huge, steep backyard and would love your help to create an edible, native-wildlife attracting permaculture garden. They hope to eventually include a mini-orchard, chookhouse, frog-pond and chill-out area along with intensive vegie beds and native trees.

This permablitz is a great one if you've ever wondered how swales and terraces can be used on steep slopes, or if you'd like to know how to make a pond and encourage aquatic eco-systems. And if you're new to Permablitz - fantastic! There is heaps to be learnt at this blitz.

Where: 2 Sandra Avenue, Eltham. Cars enter via Ryans Road but those coming on foot from train station can enter via a walkway next to 59 Silver Street. From station walk up Diamond Street, left on Silver and then the walkway (takes 12mins from Eltham Station on the Hurstbridge Line).
When: Sunday, April 6 from 10am to 4pm
Useful materials to bring: Wheelbarrows for carting soil, tools of any sort (especially spades and rakes), any personal touch you'd like to add to the garden (interesting branch for the pond, seeds saved from your favourite food plant etc.)

Rachel and Brent are providing refreshments throughout the day and a delicious lunch at 1pm, so come along and get your hands dirty!
