"The first swale is the hardest" - sing it to Cat Steven's "The first cut is the deepest" ...daggy I know!
Tamara and Andy have an acre in Bunyip (between Pakenham and Warrigul). They already have 4 swales and want more. Having just returned from the 2 week workshop at Bill Mollison's farm in Tassie, Tamara is eager to teach others and to get them over the trepidation of the FIRST SWALE. We will survey contours using several methods and dig swales by hand and if it can be arranged, an excavator! The soil is soft and easily dug. BYO mattock and shovel. Please bring morning tea to share. At 1pm we will have a BBQ with more folk. Please bring BBQables (Free range meat only). You are welcome to keep going after lunch, for practice. |
