For those who can't make the first (or those super keen for more action), this is a follow up blitz to help implement our CSA permaculture design. The "Vibrant Living CSA" aims to provide fresh seasonal veg through active community participation and ownership.

We are running the Blitzes to help kick start our permaculture/organic/biodynamic community farm and CSA initiative. We have taken on a lease of ‘Judy’s farm” in Yarra Glen and have began the implementation of wholistic market garden .  Our aim is to provide fresh seasonal produce to bio-regional and inner Melbourne community members.  We would love your help on this one and its also a great to chance to experience permaculture on a larger scale…

^{Sunday 10th October Activities}

^{Lots more planting, demonstrations of various weeding tools and techniques, potato planting and workshop on planting in tune with the Kosmic cycles biodynamic style. We will also be giving a run down of the permaculture design and principles behind our farming operations....NEWS just in . For morning tea we also have Michelle Morgan playing her new hit single "The permie song!". It's a great upbeat feel good permie soundtrack and will be great to hear it out on the land!!}

Helpfull tools to bring

Tools and materials needed:
Shovels
Digging folks
Hand gardening tools
Rakes (heavy and light)
Wheelburrows
Building tools, cordless drill, hammer, saw ect.
Any rare or interesting edible plants that you would like to see grown more (as we can get some crops going)
Watering cans
Long bits of scap wood/metal to build moveable hot houses

For your care (Please be prepared for great and poor weather..you just never know in the valley!!!
Gumboots/good boots!!!
Warm/cool clothes
Rainjacket
Cup
Gloves
Hat
Suncream
Drink bottle
Thermos

General Format of the day (likely to adapted on day but just an idea of what to expect..sure to be some inprov adventures)
8am onwards arrival
9-12 Potato Planting, broad folk demo, bed preperation, Biodynamic composting  introduction, Share about Soil care strategy of farm, intro to CSA concept, Permaculture Market garden scale...
12pm Sharing circle and welcoming/land connection ceremony
1pm Lunch
1-4 pm- Bed prep, Hand seeder demonstration, demonstrations
4pmwind down, tea and and snacks to finish off

Farm location (268b Steels crk Rd)

The farm is a few Km's down steels creek rd and is on the right. You will see a rugged "Bio-dynamic Veggies" sign, a small greenhouse, and a cart with a few veggies in it for farmgate sales outside the driveway.
