The Permablitz on Sunday 28th March will be at Petty’s Orchard, Newman’s Rd, Doncaster, 10 am – 4 pm. We will be setting up a living archway into the demonstration orchard, and a demonstration garden nearby. There is also clearing work around the small apple trees and blackberry clearing for those who want some more challenging tasks. We also hope that Blitzers will help in the tasting tent, and taste some of the apples in the process. An explanation of the principles, design and actual tasks will be given by members of the Heritage Fruits Society. All Blitzers are encouraged to take an orchard tour. This is not a free event for the public, but is free to Permablitzers who pre-register on the permablitz website and are there to participate. If your name is not on the list at the gate, you will be asked to pay!! Equipment to bring includes secateurs, gloves, shovels, forks. One or two lawnmowers, wheelbarrows and whippersnippers would be useful. Location: Homestead Rd, Templestowe. Melway 22A12. No public transport. A long ride from Eltham station.
