Future canvas is having a permablitz at the Docklands for the Urban Reforestation project and would like your help. Urban Reforestation is an existing project in Docklands which aims to attract residents and professionals to engage in their community through urban agriculture. Your participation in the blitz will inspire an ongoing community conversation and the development and character of the Docklands precinct. The day will include various tasks and activities in organic gardening, composting and worm farms, bushfoods and australian natives, water wise gardens and drought proof plants, balcony and roof gardening, creating a sand pit, small construction work and community engagement activities.
The temporary gardens on the Docklands North Warf has been created in collaboration with architects, landscape architects, Eco-Designers, Urban-Agriculturalist and Permaculturalists.
The garden will reinvigorate the space with a community garden, with vegetables, bushfoods and fruit, a studio will be placed at the garden to showcase sustainable living, Permaculture design and the vision of the Reforestation project.

HOW TO GET THERE?
TRAIN Southern Cross Station is the closest train station to the Docklands. The Bourke Street Pedestrian Bridge, which winds around the southern side of Etihad Stadium (Telstra Dome), provides direct access to Southern Cross Station.
TRAM Catch the free City Circle Tram to Docklands or take one of the following city trams:
- No.30 via La Trobe Street
- No. 31 via Collins Street
- No. 48 & No. 70 via Flinders Street
- No. 86 via Bourke Street
BUS The Fishermans Bend bus 236 travels along Lorimer Street, Docklands. To arrive at Harbour Esplanade, disembark at the intersection of Lorimer Street and Montague Street and walk over the Charles Grimes Bridge.
CAR PARKING / DRIVING TO DOCKLANDS The main road running along the spine of Docklands is Harbour Esplanade. Harbour Esplanade connects to Wurundjeri Way (via Dudley Street and Bourke Street extension) and LaTrobe Street. The Westgate Freeway connects to Docklands via the off ramp to Lorimer Street. CityLink’s western section connects to Docklands via Footscray Road.
Parking is available in a number of locations in Docklands.
